About me
Hey there! My name is Jay Han. I am currently a Junior at DigiPen Institute of Technology, pursuing a Bachelors of Arts in Game Design.
While I can ramble about the things that sparked my interest in this industry, I would have to admit that I did not realize how much work it took to make games. I did have my doubts coming into this, but one thing made me stick to it. And that was the collaborative process of video game development.
Every discipline, whether it be programmers, artists, designers, etc, takes part in making a game. They start from what seems like a ball of clay, and mold it to what they want it to be. Yes, there will be times where that ball of clay needs to be reshaped, cut, or even scrapped, but it eventually becomes something beautiful. It is this collaborative and iterative process to fruition that keeps me going.
In this broad spectrum of game design, I found myself leaning more towards level and UX design. It is incredible how something as simple as a whiteboxed level can eventually turn into a well polished level. On that same note, it is even more fascinating to see how users who are playing your game can give diverse data points, some that you would have not thought of.
While I am not working, I enjoy playing games with my best friends, singing along to the newest hit songs, and dancing to K-Pop songs with my sister.
