Level Design
Sketched out multiple level layouts for each block type, each varying with difficulty.
Implemented level layouts into the level editor to test with mechanics and character controller.
Utilized feedback from playtesters to iterate on the layout and components of the levels.
Prototyped puzzles using different block types for players to solve in each level.
ux dESIGN
Conducted formal playtests with a focus on gameplay and levels.
Recorded gameplay of users playing a level to see what they did and if any issues appeared.
Generated heatmaps from video footage to visualize areas in the level that users had issues with.
Created pre and post-test surveys for users to fill out when conducting tests.
Compiled and analyzed survey answers to make changes in the game.
systems design
Designed various block types, each with unique behaviors for the player to interact with.
Tested blocks that required timing to see if it was difficult for the user, and made changes based on their feedback.
