Roles

 

Level Design

  • Sketched out multiple level layouts for each block type, each varying with difficulty.

  • Implemented level layouts into the level editor to test with mechanics and character controller.

  • Utilized feedback from playtesters to iterate on the layout and components of the levels.

  • Prototyped puzzles using different block types for players to solve in each level.

ux dESIGN

  • Conducted formal playtests with a focus on gameplay and levels.

  • Recorded gameplay of users playing a level to see what they did and if any issues appeared.

  • Generated heatmaps from video footage to visualize areas in the level that users had issues with.

  • Created pre and post-test surveys for users to fill out when conducting tests.

  • Compiled and analyzed survey answers to make changes in the game.

systems design

  • Designed various block types, each with unique behaviors for the player to interact with.

  • Tested blocks that required timing to see if it was difficult for the user, and made changes based on their feedback.
